Cluster Centre for Transport Safety and Vehicle Diagnostics was founded in 2012 on the initiative of the Automotive Industry Institute. Its aim is to consolidate active and passive security research of different means of transport, simulation research, electromagnetic compatibility and the environmental impact of the automotive sector.

The agreement signatories apart from the Automotive Industry Institute are: Military University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Polish Chamber of Vehicle Inspection Stations, automotive sector entrepreneurs which manucacture new products as well as those which provide automotive services and training in the field of improving driving techniques.

The agreement is open to accession by new members of the automotive sector. The creation of the Centre for Transport Safety and Vehicle Diagnostics was also supported by the Transportation Technical Supervision and the Police for many reasons e.g. training their own staff.

The wide range of research opportunities which covers almost all aspects of transport safety may:

  • Influence on the concentration of the Polish transport safety research and development;
  • Increase the innovation of transport safety automotive technologies;
  • Provide a wide range of innovative training services and educational activities in the transport safety field;

This cluster is connected with the implementation of EU Directives on the testing and type approval of vehicles (2010/48/EU, 2007/46/EC) in the Polish law. Związane jest ponadto z implementacją do prawa polskiego dyrektyw europejskich dotyczących badań i homologacji pojazdów (Dyrektywa 2010/48/EU, Dyrektywa 2007/46/WE).

The Centre significantly influences on the scientific research and development and at the same time creates new opportunities to establish cooperation networks between business and research centers and academic institutions in the field of the innovative products and services development and technology transfer to industry.

We aim to create a research centre which will be competitive in the european research area and will take a leading position in the field of road transport safety. The activities of the Centre will increase the economic competitiveness of the Mazovia region and the whole country.

The activities of the Centre are consistent with the implemented in Poland Transport Development Strategy till 2020 (with the prospect till 2030) and take into account the objectives and priority actions which have been identified in other national and EU strategic documents.

The Centre collaborates with governmental and non-governmental entities which are responsible for road safety and environmental issues.
